2022 Business Goals

Wow, here we are – 2022. The past two years have been a blur! With Rosie’s birth in 2020 and of course, COVID, these last two years have flown by (and blended together!).

These last two years have been the most transformative for my business, and I featured some of these reasons in my post on the highlights of 2021.

With that said, I have even bigger goals for 2022. Although I will refrain from going into the nuts and bolts of the technical aspect of the business, below I am sharing some overarching goals I would like to achieve by the end of the year.

1. Serve more clients in 2022.

Serving you by providing you with heirlooms to hold onto is one of my greatest joys. For this upcoming year, I am being extremely intentional with my time to allow for the best possible experience for more mothers in the DC/Northern VA/Maryland area.

By creating more intentional experiences, I am now able to take on more clients for this year, and I am so excited.

2. Explore film and artificial light.

As you may or may not already know, I photograph with both digital and film. I wrote an entire post on the film process here. Film creates dreamy, nostalgic portraits that I absolutely love. However, it can be limiting when there is a lack of natural light. This year I would like to explore incorporating film and artificial light, so I can still utilize film when in darker scenarios (often times indoors).

3. Host a 2022 Santa event.

I know we JUST passed Christmas, so thinking of Santa is far from everyone’s minds. However, I have been dreaming of hosting a magical Santa event so your little ones can get beautiful, timeless portraits with Santa. This has been on my radar for a few years, and I think this is the year to finally do it! How much fun would it be to bring your child to meet Santa, eat some cookies, drink hot chocolate, and get a few stunning portraits in the process?

4. Start working on educational content.

My last 2022 goal is to begin working on educational content for either the motherhood or photography community. As a teacher of 12 years, I absolutely adore seeing my students learn new skills.

I would love to provide educational content for moms via photographic storytelling or the photography community in some way. Although this year may not be the official launch year, I would love to get started with ideas and drafts.
