This colorful fall family session was photographed at Rock Creek Park in DC at Boulder Bridge. When Lena mentioned she wanted a location with tall trees and a woodsy feel, I knew Rock Creek Park would be a great choice. I had previously photographed her family for a spring session at Brookside Gardens.
I had seen images of Boulder Bridge before and thought it would be the perfect location for their session. Due to road closures, it took a little digging and hunting to finally find, but it was so worth it!
Boulder Bridge is a stunning location in Rock Creek Park in DC any time of year, but the fall colors made it especially exquisite. The location, although very natural and outdoors-y, lends itself to a very ethereal aesthetic. Because there are tall trees all over, Boulder Bridge is probably one of the few locations I recommend photographing at midday. It does get a lot of foot traffic, so weekdays are best to have the location exclusively to yourself.
