Great Falls Family Photos with Older Children

I photographed these Great Falls family photos with older children this past summer, and it was so, so special. If you’ve been following my work, you’ll know that I photograph a lot of babies! I adore photographing little ones, but as my own children have gotten older, these sessions with older children grow more and more meaningful.

Meghan knew she wanted artful imagery to cherish this time with her two boys before they entered adolescence. She also wanted to showcase her Great Falls garden, full of gorgeous native plants. We planned for an at-home session close to sunset.

I find that family photos with children who are a bit older tend to feel more sentimental because there are so many touching and heartfelt moments. It’s often a time to reflect on the passing of time and the people your children are growing into. I know I find myself easier to shed a tear during these sessions!
