These Constitution Gardens family photos will melt your heart! This mother knew she wanted to have a quintessential DC family session, and so we opted for Constitution Gardens downtown. Constitution Gardens is surprisingly an easy session location for photos!
We usually can find parking a couple blocks away and then enjoy the short walk over. Constitution Gardens has never had crowds when I’ve been there. It sits diagonal to the Lincoln Memorial and reflecting pool, and that’s where the tourists and crowds typically gather. Constitution Gardens is such a lovely alternative location to the monuments because you’ll have the Washington Monument in the background, as well as a beautiful pond and some green willow trees.
I absolutely adore the morning light at Constitution Gardens, and it actually does not get as bright as the area by the Lincoln, meaning we usually have a little flexibility with where we photograph there. Constitution Gardens is part of the National Parks.
This location is really perfect if you want that downtown DC location without the stress. This mother wanted to remember their family’s time in the district before moving. With a toddler, we wanted to make the session as easy and stress-free as possible – so Constitution Gardens was the pick!
