Dreamy Maryland Brookside Gardens Family Session | Preview

I had such a fun time photographing this dreamy Brookside Gardens family session in Maryland. This sweet family got up early on a Saturday morning and met me at Brookside Gardens in Silver Spring. It had rained the day before, and although the forecast for Saturday was clear, there were overcast skies with fog. I love photographing in golden light, but this fog was magical! It gave a whimsical and ethereal aesthetic to the gardens.

I have two young little ones, so I know how hard it is to get out the door, especially early in the morning! This family trusted me with an early morning session, and wow, did it pay off! I know how hard it can be traveling from Northern VA or DC into the Maryland suburbs. Not only did we get gifted with the beautiful morning fog and even light, but we also had the gardens to ourselves. I think this is huge when working with little ones! Adding in any kind of wait during a session with babies and toddlers can be tricky. We didn’t need to wait for anyone since the gardens were ours! Furthermore, I find little ones are in their best spirits early in the morning. We’re always able to achieve happy moods and capture their personalities to the fullest.
