This studio motherhood session was such a joy to photograph. Claire and her daughter Wells visited the Washington DC studio a couple of months ago for a special motherhood session. Claire is pregnant with her second and wanted to document this remaining time with Wells as her only daughter.
I remember feeling this sweet tug of excitement and sadness when I was pregnant with my second. You know the family dynamic will change, which brings a small sense of longing. However, you also know that good things are to come.
These paradoxical emotions were perfectly captured during this session. I loved the intimate connection between Claire and Wells – you could definitely tell how much they loved one another.
