As a DC fine art photographer, I have desired to enrich the service I provide the families I photograph. I couldn’t quite place my finger on it, but it seemed there should be something more than simply sending an online gallery and calling it a day. The galleries are beautiful and purposeful, yet so often than not, we (myself included) do not use the images as we originally intended to, or the quality of what we get doesn’t last (i.e. getting prints from your local pharmacy). Or, we never end up printing the beautiful images of our families and they linger online for years.
Most online galleries last for 10 years on the long end, and what happens when you change devices? What if your images are on a flash drive and that flash drive is lost or damaged? I can’t even tell you where the CD is that our engagement photos are on…
Providing you with art to serve as your legacy is important to me because at the end of the day, what do you want to last? My family would bring out our baby albums on birthdays, and we had the best time leafing through them. What do you want to pass down to your children?
