It is such a joy to document this special time for families like in this Meridian Hill Park maternity session in DC. Samantha and her family moved into the DC area this past spring. We ventured out to Meridian Hill Park in DC on a summer morning. I almost always photograph in the early morning in the city. We practically had the park to ourselves (and beat the heat).
They knew they could not let this special time pass without capturing maternity photos, despite the pandemic. Samantha, her husband Jared, and son Theodore were the sweetest people to meet and work with. I love working with little ones during maternity sessions! We played games and had the best time. I was honored to be their DC Maternity Photographer.

This darling family’s kindness and willingness to adapt despite difficult circumstances are a testament to their family’s strength and parallel the hills and valleys of motherhood. Motherhood is a gift but comes with unique hurdles and highs.
“Motherhood is exhausting, but the best part is the “awe and wonder in the eyes of my little one – it is a fresh reminder of the childlike joy that comes with their innocence.” I resonate with Samantha’s beautiful words. Sometimes, we just need to look at our little ones to be reminded of the sweet things in life. I cannot wait to photograph the arrival of their beautiful baby girl.
