Bon Air Rose Garden Maternity Session | Arlington, VA

This Bon Air Rose Garden Maternity Session in Arlington, VA was a summer dream. I have photographed Tiffany’s family since she was pregnant with her oldest, so it is always a pleasure to see her growing family again. She is currently expecting her third child and had a solo maternity session at Salubria earlier this year. I’m so glad she opted for a family maternity session so we could document the tangible love her family has!

We met on a late summer evening at Bon Air Rose Garden. Located in Northern VA, the Bon Air Rose Garden is a small oasis outside of the city. There are beautiful brick pathways and a large variety of roses. We photographed this maternity session in mid-September, so I wasn’t sure how many roses we would find still in bloom. We were pleasantly surprised to still find a large array of blooms all over the garden. I have photographed the garden in June before, and there were also a great amount of roses – I think it’s safe to say that the Bon Air Rose Garden is a beautiful location for a photo session from late spring-end of summer!

I photograph most of my sessions in the early morning hours for the best light, most agreeable state for little ones, and least amount of crowds. However, the Bon Air Rose Garden works as a great evening location. The sun sets delicately behind the garden, and the gardens don’t get terribly crowded. There is even a playground to play at post-session. I highly recommend the Bon Air Rose Garden as a location for a summer session.
