DC War Memorial Family Session | Washington DC

We met on a summer morning for this DC War Memorial Family Session. The DC War Memorial is a wonderful option for a downtown DC photoshoot. It is usually easy to access (at all times of day), you can find parking, it doesn’t get too crowded, and it usually has good light.

I love sessions at the monuments in DC. These photo sessions are classic and refined and are quintessential DC. However, monument sessions do involve ample planning. I usually have my clients meet me at sunrise for locations like the Lincoln Memorial since that is when the light is best, and the Lincoln gets very crowded very fast. This does involve a lot of extra preparation.

A DC War Memorial Family Session does not need as much preparation since it’s so accessible. It looks like a miniature Jefferson Memorial with less crowds and easier access.

This family was so wonderful to work with again. They had previous sessions at Brookside Gardens and an in-home Arlington lifestyle session, and this was the last session in their luxury membership. We celebrated their little one’s birthday and documented so many beautiful and silly moments.
