Maryland Cherry Blossoms at Brookside Gardens

This family session featured Maryland cherry blossoms at Brookside Gardens in Silver Spring. Brookside is one of my favorite photoshoot locations in Maryland and for good reason! It is so beautiful from spring through fall, and in spring there are a few cherry blossom trees that show off.

Brookside Gardens has a couple different varieties of Maryland cherry blossoms, so we can typically find one tree in bloom from about the third week of March to the first week of April. What I love even more is that spring also brings the daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths!

For this family session, I was worried that we had missed the cherry blossoms since they bloomed so early at the Tidal Basin this year. However, we were able to find a couple trees that were still in bloom! Although we missed the hyacinths and the tulips weren’t quite yet in bloom, the daffodils and camellias were still blooming!

I’ve photographed this sweet family a few times now, and this was the last session we had together before they moved, making it ultra special!
