Cherry blossom season is equally the busiest but most beautiful time of the year, and this National Arboretum Cherry Blossoms Family Session did not disappoint. The timing of the cherry blossoms along the Tidal Basin can be so tricky. You need to meticulously follow the peak bloom forecast, and even that can change multiple times! This family decided to go along with one of DC’s secret cherry blossom locations, the National Arboretum.
The Arboretum has a wide variety of cherry blossoms, so you have a better probability of finding some in peak bloom all throughout spring compared to the Tidal Basin. There are also several groves of cherry blossom and tulip trees, so you can hop around. This gorgeous Washington DC family session took place on an early April morning. Early morning sessions definitely take some planning, but it always is worth it. We got the most beautiful light and an empty grove to enjoy these delicate blossoms.
