These outdoor newborn family photos at Bon Air Rose Garden are simply stunning. I met Belle and Matt and their beautiful baby girl Maisie on a summer evening to photograph their newborn session at Bon Air Rose Garden in Alexandria, Virginia.
We had to reschedule twice due to illness and weather, so I was SO excited to finally photograph their precious baby girl. Bon Air Rose Garden is one of the few locations that I prefer sunset over sunrise, yet it is never too crowded. Located in Alexandria, Virginia, Bon Air Rose Garden serves as the perfect location for a peaceful sunset session. It’s accessible, with parking right in front of the garden, so there is no need to do a lot of walking.
Since we had to reschedule a couple of times, Maisie was already a few weeks old during our session. I usually recommend newborn sessions take place within the first two weeks of baby being born. This just usually allows the session to flow smoothly since baby is ultra sleepy!
However, there is never a wrong time to photograph a baby, and outdoor newborn sessions are the perfect way to sooth babies – thus, making outdoor newborn sessions smooth!
