What Should I Do With My Photos?

What Should I Do With My Photos?

What should I do with my photos? As a DC motherhood photographer and mother, I am the first person to understand how overwhelming it can be to decide what to do with your family photos. Most photographers will send over a gallery of high-resolution images for their clients to do with as they wish.

Although I do offer full galleries for you, I believe in the importance of printing your photos. Let’s think about this – about 10 years ago, photographers would provide a CD of images. About 5 years ago, they would provide a flash drive. Some still do now, and some provide an online gallery. Even online galleries have expirations (some are 5 years, some are 10 years). How will technology evolve in the next 5 years? 10? What happens when you change devices? What happens when you can no longer access your gallery, flash drive, or CD?

I have a confession to make…

When I got married, I only wanted the digital files. At the time, I thought that I would make my own wedding album using an online service and print my own photos. Let me just say this – the album was never made, and although I DID get photos printed for our walls, they weren’t the best quality to truly last.

What many people don’t realize is that most online photo printing companies don’t provide superior quality in printing…and you will definitely not find it at your local pharmacy or grocery store! What this means is that not only will the color, contrast, saturation, etc. be slightly off, but the actual paper itself will not last. I wrote an entire post on the quality of museum-quality prints, so I won’t get into the details here. What I will say is this: most prints have a shelf-life of 10 years or so if not printed from a superior photo lab. And do you want photos of the ones you love the most simply fading away?

What if your photographer took care of all of this for you? You don’t even need to lift a finger.

I will show you sample wall galleries and frame options, have them shipped to your door, and provide my recommendations for installation.

I will create and arrange albums for you.

And guess what? If you haven’t had wall art or albums in the past, I am happy to combine previous photo sessions for you. It’s not too late…

Imagine your children leafing through family albums on birthdays and holidays, or having that gorgeous heirloom album sitting on your coffee table for all to view. Imagine your children seeing the ones they love most on their walls. And we do know that when children see photographs of themselves it can boost their self-esteem…

I will take care of it for you. And you will have your beautiful family memories in tangible form to always hold on to. Let’s chat today.
