If you know anything about me or my brand, you know I love DC antique finds. There is something about the old world that has a tangible nostalgia, and I simply adore that in items that were once loved.
The wonderful aspect about vintage goods is what they can be. Even if they appear falling apart, they can be made into something that is beautiful, custom-made, and meaningful.
Pre-kids, my husband and I would go antiquing every Saturday. Although we do not go as frequently now, we certainly do pick up vintage finds from time to time. There are many places to purchase antiques in the Washington, D.C. area, but below are my favorites!
Community Forklift | Hyattsville, Maryland
I live fairly close to Community Forklift and love popping in to see what new items they have. Community Forklift is a non-profit warehouse where you can purchase furniture, materials, and other home goods that were once owned. It is the perfect place to check out if you are renovating because they tend to have just about anything. We have purchased doors, windows, desks – you name it!
Chartreuse & Co. | Frederick, Maryland
I cannot recommend Chartreuse & Co. enough! They have the most beautiful, custom pieces that are spread out amongst a large outdoor space and barn. They sell a large variety of items, and often, they are good as they are – you don’t need to invest extra time to spruce them up. You are almost guaranteed to leave with something!
Westwood Unique Furnishings & Antiques | Ellicott City, Maryland
My husband and I stumbled upon Westwood one Saturday and have fallen in love ever since. Situated in an old church, everything about Westwood proclaims old world charm. The space is much larger than it appears, so chances are, you will find something to fall in love with.
Pillar and Post | Washington, DC
I recently discovered Pillar and Post on Instagram and have been swooning at everything they have in their shop. The owners travel to England themselves to find curated items to sell in their Georgetown storefront. It truly is a treat to visit Pillar and Post!
