It was a hot summer day for this Capital Hill Newborn session in Washington, DC. When I arrived at Betsy and Brett’s home, I couldn’t get enough of how loving they were with baby Charlie. It was so sweet and simply melted my heart!
We photographed almost the entire session in their nursery because it got the best light. You don’t need a large space for in-home sessions – just one big window! Their nursery worked perfectly.
Charlie was already a few weeks old. I usually photograph newborns within the first two weeks, simply because they are sleepiest. This often makes sessions run smoothly.
However, there is no wrong time to photograph your little one! One of the bonuses of photographing babies that are already a few weeks old is that we can see them awake. We were able to get some adorable open-eyed images of baby Charlie towards the end of the session. And I couldn’t get enough of how Betsy and Brett were loving on Charlie. They were so sweet!
