What Happens After Your Session: From Gallery to Artwork on Your Walls

The MEP Experience

Have you ever wondered what happens after your session? Hair and makeup done, the most beautiful morning behind you, and now you’re wondering… what happens next? I’ve got you. Here’s exactly what to expect, step by step, so there are zero surprises.

One of the things I hear most from new clients is that they had NO idea what the process looked like after their session. And honestly, that’s on photographers to communicate better, because the experience doesn’t end when I put my camera down. In so many ways, it’s just getting started!

So whether you’ve already booked a session with me (yay!) or you’re just trying to get a feel for what working together actually looks like, this post is for you. Here’s a peek behind the curtain at everything that happens after we wrap.

Step One: You’ll receive a sneak peek collage

Within just a few days of your session, I’ll send over a sneak peek collage so you can get a little taste of the magic we created together. I know how hard it is to wait, so this is my way of tiding you over while I work on the full edit!

Think of it as a little love note from me to you. A few of my favorite frames from the session, just enough to get you excited for what’s coming.

Step Two: Your viewing and ordering appointment

About 4 weeks after your session, we’ll schedule your viewing and ordering appointment, and honestly, this might be my favorite part of the whole process.

This isn’t just sending you a link and leaving you to scroll through images on your phone between diaper changes. I want your first viewing to actually feel like an experience. We’ll sit down together and watch a slideshow of your images set to music, so you can take it all in the way it deserves to be taken in. Have tissues handy, just saying. 🤍

This is the moment where it all comes together, and I love getting to be there for it.

Step Three: We’ll design your artwork together

Right after your viewing, while the images are fresh and the feelings are big, we’ll select your favorites and start talking about how to bring them to life in your home.

Whether you’re drawn to a stunning wall art piece for your living room or a heirloom album you can hold in your hands and flip through for decades, I’ll help you with every single design decision. You don’t need to come in knowing anything. That’s what I’m here for!

Once you’ve made your selections and placed your order, you’ll also receive your digital gallery if that’s included in your package. So you’ll have both the heirlooms and the files to tuck away safely.

Step Four: Your artwork arrives

About 6 to 8 weeks after your ordering appointment, your artwork will arrive, beautifully packaged and ready to find its place in your home. There is nothing quite like holding a fine art print or opening a finished album for the first time. It’s one of those moments I genuinely wish I could be there for every single time.

This is the part where your images stop living on a screen and start living in your life. On your walls, on your coffee table, in your hands. Exactly where they belong.

If you’ve ever wondered if you’re on you’re own for what happens after your session, you’re wrong. I know it might sound like a lot of steps, but truly, I handle the heavy lifting. You show up, you feel pampered, you experience your images the way they deserve to be experienced, and then a few months later a beautiful piece of artwork shows up at your door. That’s the whole goal.

If you have questions about any part of the process, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I answer every inquiry personally and would love to chat.

These are the moments you’ll want to remember. Let’s make sure you actually get to hold them. 🤍

If you’re looking for a DC Newborn Photographer who truly takes care of everything, from wardrobe and hair and makeup to artwork design and delivery, I would love to work with you. My goal is for this to feel less like hiring a photographer and more like being taken care of from start to finish. You just show up and soak it all in. The rest is on me. I’d love to hear from you!
