What Your Kids Should Wear for Photos

As a family photographer, I can always recommend the best ensembles for the entire family when it comes time for your photo session, especially what your kids should wear for photos. I recently shared my favorite dresses for both a maternity session and a newborn session, so today I am going to share what I recommend for the little ones.

First, make sure you select your outfit. The rest will revolve around you (as it should, right?). I offer a client wardrobe of gorgeous, flattering dresses for you so you don’t even need to worry about finding the perfect dress. Once the fabrics and tones of your outfit have been established, it is much easier to coordinate your family. I always recommend staying within an organic palette with colors such as rose, lavender, sage, neutrals, grays, and whites. Having your little ones in knits can provide more texture to your photographs, as well.

Below are my favorite outfits and brands to go to for what your kids should wear for photos.

Zara

You truly cannot go wrong with Zara. They offer a variety of adorable knits in organic tones for your little ones. I especially love Zara for knit overalls for boys.

H&M

H&M also sells quite a variety of clothes perfect for your session for babies, boys, and girls. I can typically find adorable one pieces, overalls, and dresses in organic tones. Much of my children’s wardrobe is from H&M!

Jamie Kay

Jamie Kay has the most darling knits, one pieces, and dresses for little ones! They have organic tones and classic florals to compliment whatever it is you are wearing. You simply can’t go wrong!

Old Navy & Baby Gap

You can often find neutral sweaters and rompers and dear floral dresses at Old Navy and Baby Gap.
